Well, I completely admire your dedication to the SBC swap, but I'd say you're down at least a solid second to a cammed 6.0 ls.

Probably only time i will agree with you...

Im pretty sure he's about 1 second off of a cammed 5.3, sure if he ditches the 22's he could get mid 13's, but thats with a BUILT SBC.

I think ill stick with cathedral port heads on my GEN III truck motors...some of you know why this is funny, but im pretty sure he said..."Those heads work for cars maybe, but not for a truck" when i met him last year.

Ill give you points for originality though.

Here's the times of all five of my passes.

1st pass ever) 14.8 @ 88.8mph, 2.25 60' (Back to the Future, anyone?)
2nd pass) 15.8 @ 88.3mph, 2.42 60' (I just sat & spun tire at the start line)
3rd pass) 14.6 @ 89.3mph, 2.05 60'
4th pass) 14.2 @ 94.6mph, 2.03 60'
5th pass) 14.1 @ 94.6mph, 2.05 60'

With a couple more passes & practice I think I could have broke into the 13's

Here's something interesting... I discovered that my vacuum secondaries weren't opening. Now that it's fixed it's so much quicker... I think all of my previous track runs were made with the secondaries stuck closed.

Yes, I know vac secondaries won't open while reving in the driveway... I actually rigged up a small camcorder focused on the vac pod & linkage, and then went for a drive. The secondaries never opened under any throttle position under any load... and I had the lightest vac spring in the pod too.
