Nothing wrong with the full slick just kinda overkill. They require a longer bigger burnout. Also depending on how your track runs you can choose to go street tire, or slick. Depending on what has more cars, so you can get more runs. A 10" tire, will be great on a 8" wheel.

There's nothing wrong with running a radial. The SSR we did running a 408 and TVS2300 making around 700RWHP and 700RWTQ pulled a 1.57 60' on a drag radial on an un-prepped track. That was on a 325/40R18. If your suspension works well you should be able to get away with the 275/55R16 M&H drag radial. With your truck having the 4L80E your launch should be a bit softer than those running a 60E also due to the gearing. If you're stuck on a slick I'd just stick a 28x10.5 on there as that's enough to go well faster than you have the power for.

if i do go drag radial, it will be a 305/45/18 on an 18x10 but its about $350 more with wheels/tires than a set of 16x8s with a cheater/dot 28 11.5 16

I run the Hoosier full slicks:

http://www.summitracing.com/parts/HOO-18153/

They dead hook and a night and day difference between the ET Street. I havent got them to spin yet.

I will find out soon enough when I start spraying.
