well the shorter tire will force you into shifting earlier and lugg across the 1/8th if that is your venue. A taller tire might help if you are really winding it up like that

I've been told the 230/224 111 in a 6.0 pulls to 6800. Just wondering if taking it to 7k at the track is feasible or not.

Ya that is why i am asking, i am at that threshold where if went shorter it could actually make me slower...

I wouldn't do it. When I ran those 26" drag radials (used and bald but got for cheap) I had some problems with traction and it made the rear want to hop a little. I think you should keep the 28"s

Tractions going to be hard but they will work.
You would have around a 4.42:1 final ratio by swapping.

if that's the case your better off with the tire diameter you have now, maybe even taller will help.
