Yep the Z was LS1 powered, and bad ***. It was the best race for me that day. Every gear change I'd gain alittle ground, then loose it to his better power weight ratio....
Have you talked to him about that day? Does he normally run 10.xxs?

that z has a stock rear end still. he got into the 10.90s at i think 124 when i saw him at sears point. the motor is a stock ls1 with a little cam and afr heads and thats it. oh yah t56 6 speed. he said he was going to go into the high 4s like 4.80s for rear end gears so will be better. also a nx 150 shot. that car moves for what it is. still running a single 3 inch exhaust also.

curb weight on that car is 2284 with the big inline 6. i bet the ls1 with aluminum heads weighs less than that original straight 6. Lets say 2300 pounds. he got rid of the stock seats and has recaros and did some other stuff.

YA the front bars are down quite aways, I really don't think just slicks will hook, and since I have to pack the extra weight of the front diff, I might as well use it.
I wonder how it would act if I found some slicks that are the same sizes as the street tires, and still used 4wd but with slicks in the rear only?

i dont know if this has already been covered, but what's keeping you from putting slicks on all 4? turning issues?

$$
I dont know about WidleRacing but I can't get all 4 to spin at will so it would be a waste of $$
BUT
You could run slicks and skinnys and still get a good 4wd launch.

Ya the cost of for slicks is pretty steap. Although my Biggest problem is, I need 30" tall slicks. The tallest I can get is 28 inch, that puts me right at 6,000rpm to trap 121, I figure I need to trap 120+ for my New, new, new, new goal of 10.999. I REALY don't want to spin the LQ4 up that high.
