Default Rear leaf question NNBS...

...anyone remove the helper spring?
What results?
Too soft?Better weight transfer?
I won't be carrying a load or daily driving....

Try clamping just the front first. It helped with wheel hop on mine.

Eliminating it could cause more problems. The thing with leaf springs is you don't want them wadding up in front of the axle. That can contribute to wheel hop.

i removed my overload spring when i installed caltracs. i could see an issue if the caltracs werent there though.

Clamping the rears really helps, this is my 2500HD doing a 12psi boosted launch. It will do a consistent 1.7 60' at 7140lbs race weight.

i think caltracs say the fewer the better but im running all mine on my 2012. caltracs and rancho single adjustable shocks. played with the settings at the track. i may keep it a secret where the best setting is!

Good discussion guys. Clamping the rear would help with axle wrap to a degree, but not like clamping in the front.
