4700 lbs is heavy for a rcsb 2wd. My truck when bone stock with Vortec 350 auto, 3.08 gears, doing the 1/4 at 5500 rpm in 2nd gear was 15.9.

The OBS trucks are quite a bit lighter than the 99+ trucks. I weight 4050 lbs.

peace

Wow, I'm learning a few things.

Here I thought a 15.57 at 85 mph was decent for a bone stock ECSB 1500 5.3L. Guess I have work to do!

BTW, 1100 DA doesn't suck, that's good spring air. Air in June is around 3000 DA or more, that's crappy (and let's not bring up elevated tracks ) .

i dont how u guys keep on saying that you had a little spin on your bone stock trucks, i have an 06 ccsb 5.3 and the only time i could ever get it to spin is if the roads are wet. what gives?

I also cant see where all these guys are having traction issues with mostly stock trucks.

It depends on the roads for me. I've mostly been babying it..but a few times I've punched her from a dig going to and from work on two different roads and on one it'll leave a nice 2-3ft mark from the tires and the other it won't do a thing lol. I'm going to take her to HRP in a few weeks to get a baseline run while she's bone stock. Is there a noticeable difference once the motor is broken in? I've got about 430ish miles on my 06.

Yes there is a noticeable difference in 1/4 mile times after the engine breaks in.
I saw an article where a bone stock SS Silverado dropped almost a second from when it was ran new and then again after 40,000 miles. I couldnt beleive the difference.
The article made no mention of atmospheric conditions.

Rings, bearings will break in as well as every moving part in the drivetrain.
