It just goes to show that u dont need big cams to go faster, even in LS based engines, i think GM people just like to hear a lope and go with big cams... lol
true that, and you cant really compare cam size's from a hemi to a ls motor i mean they are two different platforms. thats kinda like trying to compare a b18 cam and a ls1 cam or a ls1 cam and a sbc cam.

nice times ray, you should shoot for that 10 sec slip like you wanted to on the dope, im sure you can get it or get real close.

very true but it has been proven with Stroked out 5.7L that with a bigger cam made more power. LIke with the whole tuning getting better most wouldnt go past a 224/228. 222/226 cam with a 5.7L based stroker untill about a few months back someone tried a 230/230 cam in a 5.7L stroked to a 6.4L and put out more power than anyone has seen in a 392. So that leave me to wonder if i can put a 230/230 cam in my truck but many havent tried it in a stock block 5.7L cause the fear of messing something up etc etc. I would try it but i also suffer from the fear of something not going right and not having the money to fix it.

So after talking to my tuner about that he jsut told me to wait till i go stroker. Im sure within the next yr someone will try it and with a good stall,a nd gears it will break records.

I also agree with you josh and skeet bigger isnt always better but i think any biggger cam with the right stall and gears will be better since i have notice that most big cams make power on the top end, so with good gearing and big stall it will do great work IMO but not the best for daily driving. Now if your a 5000lb truck then you wouldn't want a MS3 cam you wold want a low end TQ cam. That is what im trying to tell alot of people, that every vechicle is different and some jsut need different thing to make them work good.

thanks bro i was better happy but i let her cool down for 3 hrs and when i ran it i ran slower with a 12.xx@107 and noticed when i got home that it went from 32% humidity to 67% humidity and i wonder if that hurt me. So i gave up that night.

as for HP tuner i cant freakin wait.

exactually, this is what alot of people dont understand, a small cam would help a heavy vechicle when a BIG or bigger cam would help a lighter vechicle. thats one reason i dont sugguest cams to members unless i know there setup or there truck weight, when partick g specs my cams i give him 100% accuracy from weighing the truck ( with me in it ) to true converter ( stall speeds ) to the heads, intake, exhaust so forth

You are right skeet, i was just speaking for the normal "joe" on this site that think bigger is better when they pretty much have a cam only truck that they dont want to spend money on the rest of the stuff and then they expect to run record breaking times,, you are definately not one of them, you have done your homework entirely,

yeah i know lol i was just throwing it out there that maybe someone would understand its more than just throwing a cam in a engine to get greater gains.. hell i see suspension work improve better than some bolt ons

anyway ibce again Ray, good to see you thinking things out, i personally think if hptuners ever came out with tuning software for dodge you would actually gain from it, its nice to beable to control all aspects of the drivetrain without being limited to just a few things to change. i am surprised someone hasnt released such a software, i mean hell youre getting mail order tunes right? are they sending you a complete pcm and you have to swap it out? reguardless someone is able to write to them to make changes

on a side note ray. dont get caught up in big cams and converters and gears, remember youre running nitrous, you wont need the big stuff unless you decide to get all you can NA. reason i say this i am in the process of swapping converter and gears to work with the nitrous

thanks skeet and yes i do have a mail order tune and the way i recieve it is that i tell him my a/f and he takes or removes fuel. When i use to have a datalogger i would send him a datalog of my truck and he would email me a tune and i would download it to my SCT handheld and put in my truck. I know once HP comes out with being able to have 100% of my drivetrain i will get it dynotuned and maybe see another few ponies.

When its time to go stroker i will build it for N/A and the nitrous will just be a extra whenever i want to use it, just like you have it now. Im not a nitrous junkie at all, im all about being N/A.
