Nice times ray, its definately moving.....
It just goes to show that u dont need big cams to go faster, even in LS based engines, i think GM people just like to hear a lope and go with big cams... lol

very true. Some people are just hard headed. I got a few Dodge guys that ask for advice to make there truck faster and they never listen. Since there trucks are quad cab i recommend a TQ cam like a 214/218 but they dont listen and want a big cam not knowing that it will hurt them more than help them with the low end they will lose especially without gears or converter. So i gave up on them

You will drop some time with Neg D.A and colder weather. I know this isnt the best time going to get i know my time will drop.

You will be hooked with nitrous. I love it but dont really want to depend on it.

it all depends on what you call a big cam is a 235/239 a big cam for a stock 6 liter? you also need to know your truck weight, what type of converter youre gonna run what heads, intake blah blah blah the list goes on? theres alot of variables to concider in choosing cams, yeah most dont have any idea about how to choose a cam, i personally gave up torque ( knowing my truck weight and what i was wanting to do and go after) so you think a 214/218 torque cam would perform like the cams i have choosen now and in the past? i opted for topend power and its paid off you think my truck could run the times it does with a small cam? if so then by all means spec me a cam.

heres my thing, i got the weight down in the truck, i chose topend performance, i dynoed and figured where my power came in and topped out at ( 7k by the way ) then once the stall was chosen ( after knowing the info from the dyno) along came the gears, the gears i chose are for a all out NA setup !!!! now that i am going nitrous the whole setup changes from converter to gears

very true skeet but as for the 214/218 can it was intended for a 5000lb quad cab which has proven itself in a quad cab many time before. You did you research and came out with a beast. CONGRATS
