New PB, 13 second club
#1
It's been awhile since the run, I've been a bit lazy to post up.
I entered the 13 Second club, but I feel I can get deeper. I need some opinions

With the mods in my sig:
2wd
LQ4
stock intake manifold and injectors (maxed at 102% IDC)
Comp XR265 "low lift"
LS6 springs
799 heads
LT's w/ORY, and Magnaflow muffler
80e w/stock TC
4.56's and trutrac
I was shifting at 5800 on a 28" E/T street.
My tune doesn't seem to be all there. I know my trans tune is still out b/c it hangs up still. And It comes of the line like an old dog IMO.
I have a track video somewhere, you might be able to hear it hang up

Damn looking at that time slip really points out the differences between the 60 and the 80. I cross the 1/8 a good amount before you with a higher speed, but then I barely beat you through the 1/4 with a 3 MPH deficit. a 3k stall would transform those times into something to be really proud of. If you could get the 60' down by .25 it would shave just about .5 off your times. Not bad for such a mild engine. With that tire combo along with the gears and the 5800 shift what MPH does 2nd gear max out with the 80?
Also I think a slightly larger cam that would allow for a hair more RPM/MPH ou tof each gear would really make a big difference along with that stall. Even a 216/220 like the trick flow that might allow for 6k shifts without giving anything up down low, and probably gaining from RPM the new converter allows you to leave the line compared to the 212/218.
Finally, Congrats on the new PB!

Not bad. How much wheel spin? I ran a 13.2 at 99 so you mph should be good for a low 13. Also a 2800-3000 rpm torque converter will really help you off the line. Get the 44# in and up the shifts to 6k.

I have no clue how I missed these posts...
Yea, it shifts right at 80 at 6k. My brother has his old TR220 laying around I'm going to throw in for the time being for a little more bump and thump. I know I really need a stall. I have to call around as see who has a 3k one I can still tow with.
I like the setup, but I know there is more to be desired w/the right stall.
I laugh at having the 44's in now. WOT is right around 54% and spot on 12.7
Thanks
I don't think I had any, maybe just a little on the 1-2. It shifts hard everytime w/that HD-2
I've got them in now
I haven't had much time lately to bump the shift points up, but I am pushing it to 6k. I may go 6200 w/the TR220, although I'm going to be restricted bc I have the stock intake still. I need a TBSS or NNBS intake bad.
Nice!!
mine is 5100# w/me in it in street from. Only weight I lose at the track is from removing the tailgate and swapping the rear tires.
I have a track day coming up Oct 21st, hopefully I'll have the TR220 in along w/getting the heads milled .030. I'll be running on my 27" slick then as long as I grind a bit more off the rear calipers
A buddy of mine has a 98 s10 he swapped a 4.8 w/an ls6 cam I need to run. I gotta reclaim the title lol
