New motor going in tomorrow
#91
Went to rental last night to test new 418 and Performa tranny. Adjusting tune was not even a thought yet.
Off the trailer with 20 psi in the slicks, she ran 1.66 sixty and went 11.43 et @ 119.5 mph. IAT was 140 degrees..terrible for an NA motor. Lost my AFR reading in HPT, but the shifts were 5700 rpm 1-2 shift and 6200 rpm in the 2-3 shift. I went thru the traps at 6300 rpm.
Waited an hour and lowered slicks to 16 psi, pulled headlight and made 1 adjustment to 1-2 shift. Battery was low and it wouldn't flash so had to put a jumper box just to get it to load. She then went a nice run of 11.191 @ 120.48 mph. Sixty foot was 1.592
I pulled around to the pits to save the log and computer just lost it. I never could get HPT going again. So..i lost my log and couldn't even see the new shift points. Next of course it started raining so that was it for the rental.
At least I know the new tranny is shifting now and the motor seems very strong in some ridiculous hot air. I think I am sucking in some hot air from the engine bay to the air box as the bottom is wide open. I need to rip it out and make a complete sealed box only pulling air from headlight.
Sorry, no ten second slip for me. Very elusive task.

I will use the 1 short shift log and set it where I want to be, then it will at least be close. I haven't even dyno'd yet.

the IATs were 140+ and dropped to 108 degrees by the end of the run. Some 40 degree air will be very interesting.
I have a phone video of the run but cant post thru Photobucket anymore. I need a new photo site.
