Default New best 9-9-06

Went out to Spokane Raceway Park with some buddies and ran a new best. My mods are the same as when I ran a 14.39 except for this time I pulled off my spare tire, hitch, and added some 26x10.5x15 et streets.

My first run was a my slowest with a 14.28@97.37 with a 2.22 60'.
A couple other runs were:

14.27@97.60 w/ a 2.21 60'
14.24@97.38 w/ a 2.18 60'
14.15@97.39 w/ a 2.14 60'
14.18@97.40 w/ a 2.15 60'

and finally my best was 14.14@97.03 w/ a 2.11 60'

I am really trying for a 13.9 pass before I order a TB torque converter. Maybe in cooler weather? It was low 70s high 60s

very impressive times for the mods. was that on the 20's? weight reduction and slicks will get you there for sure. damn nice 60' times on the stock converter btw! i think you just talked me into going with some 410's over these 3.73's. looks like youll be the next ecsb 5.3 without a cam to dip into the 13's. i have the tb stall and recomend going bigger. just my opinion.

I think you are the one my cousin out2win was telling me about being in the 13s without a cam in a 5.3 ecsb. You have very impressive times and that is what I am shooting for. I was on et streets 26*10.50*15.

As far as weight reduction getting me there, I already took off my spare, hitch, and tailgate. I might try the shortbelt next time out there.

I understand you ran your 13.8 without the asp pulley? did you try the shortbelt? if so did you see a gain?

yeah my 13.80 was without the asp pulley or the rollpan. i did have it shortbelted and i was on 26" slicks. im wanting to shoot for 13.5 this winter but the new motor will probably make it in before the cold sets in. i think a shortbelt may get you a 13.99 and the trailblazer stall into the 13.7's. i think i coulda made 13.7's, but i only got to run once on the slicks(thanks kevin )and that was also my only 13 second run.
