I raced an 02 mustang with a 5 speed 373 gears and a tune of some sort tonight. I am trying to figure out how fast he is so I can figure out How fast I am ( all the fing tracks close by me are closed ) I gave him the break he jumped me by a half and at we were even by at 60 and I was 1/2 ahead by 100 or so. What do these things run stock or lightly modded?

 

mid to low 14s is the best ive seen in my area.

I ran a 14.3 last time at the track with NO traction...I guess I will have to see when I get to the track.

low's 14's stock is a good number to go by @a little less than 100mph w/ a decent driver

 

Good drivers can go 13.50-13.60@102-103 in a 5 speed car and 13.90s@98-99 in an automatic. Most drivers aren't very good.

You really can't make any judgements off of a street race, though it certainly sounds like your truck is doing pretty good in the mph department if you're pulling past one.

 

The majority of those Ive raced at the track have run mid 14's and they were lightly modded. For a "sports car" with 8 cylinders they are dogs

 

99+ Mustang GT's had the improved PI heads/Cams and Intake over the 96-98 GT which were nothing more than turds. (It took over 3,000 dollars to get my 98 GT into the mid 12's and that was with me doing all the install work)

The best 1/4 ET I have ever seen in a completely bone stock 99-04 5-speed GT was a 13.7x @ 101 at HRP in ideal weather conditions.

 

Everytime I used to go to the 1/8 track at piedmont Id see this blue 03 mustang he had shifter, full exhaust, Cai and a chip he would consistently run about the same times as me and somehow Id always pull him by about half a length.

Sure enough I get to line up with him and I ran my best ever 8.8 @ 79 with a 1.9 60' and he ran an 8.9 plus I treed him so I beat him by a good full length

Dude was so pissed he wouldnt run anymore and he let his buddy drive but I still got him. Every time I would go he'd be there and Id get the W. Then after a couple months of this he shows up with gears and runs a 8.7, I could tell he was happy just to beat my pile of guts NA z71.
