Default How cold is too cold?

I know our trucks love cool air, but there has to be a point where it becomes too cold. Where is that point? I want to go to the track (HRP) Friday night, but it looks like temps will be in the mid 40s and quickly fall into the 30s. What do you guys think?

20 below freezing might be a little cold to allow the fuel to vaporize properly. I don't know, it may have to be colder than that. I'm just shooting from the hip though. Those 40 degree temps will make it run sweet!

I have heard the track gets slippery around 40 & below. No experience, but just what I have heard.

It has to be real cold for it to really effect the truck. I am running a turbo diesel and it loves this weather.

Thats cold!

I'm more worried about track conditions. Not enough heat in the track, track prep, etc... Temps now look to be in the low 40s falling to mid 30s after sunset.

Thanks for the input.

Look at flyinlows# for his first time at the track that was in upper 30's low 40 deg weather. If the track won't hook, do a better burn out, and hope the surface is half way prepped right this is his # and his video

"best run 12.71 on street tires.

Mods are K&N, Borla, Computer flash and rear cat delete.

If its a sunny day that keeps the track warm or if there are alot of people running helps also the traction will go away around 40 degrees usually.

Yep. I plan to be there early, make a few runs, and head back home.
