well i did feel a good difference after the cam install..but now i will forsure get that fuel pump replaced first..any others you guys suggest besides the AEM one?

and yess the tahoe does have a black bear tune already but im just waiting on the retune to arrive.

DA Calculator - Density Altitude Calculator - DragTimes.com
i found this calculator online which is pretty neat because it corrects the times due to elevation and gets the exact track and weather report and time from when you ran..from what i inputed into it it gave me that i should have ran a 16.4 with the corrected elevation
pretty neat..but what i ran is what i ran but it does help explain why i seen tahoes with similar mods run times in the 16s its due to the lower elevation

Your right about the DA it is indeed killing you, however, I would expect much better.
Tune, fuel pump, and a small stall would do wonders for your ET.

thanks man will be ordering that pump soon..just once question..is it a big deal to replace the oem one with a universal pump? or is it a simple swap? not as far as the time and dropping the tank but with the fuel lines and polarities

It is pretty straight forward. You need to cut a small hole in the fuel bucket but its not to bad. If you can swap a cam a fuel pump swap is cake.

Definitely need to tune and get your timing straightened up. Also, if I were you I'd ditch the 22s and go for smaller wheels.

retune is on the way from black bear..also hears 99-02 injectors can only be 19lb or 24lb injectors and a cam can max them out and i also have LT headers, will get some 8.1 truck injectors since they are 31lb and the aem 320 pump..as far as the wheels i have some stock steel 17s but when i went to the track it wasnt planned so i had no time to switch wheels

got my retune back from BB and man did it make a noticable difference..at WOT 30 mph it just takes off..still lagging from a dig but thats because i am in desprate need of a stall..my rmp drop from shifting 1-2 i have not seen but it seems to be up in the powerband because after it shifts it just keeps going with no lagg..now once i get the right amount of fuel to this thing i cant wait to see what it does

Justin really knows his stuff! Im in the same boat right now, needing atleast a 2400 stall to really get it moving like it should.

yeaaa im thinking of doing a TB stall or maybe a 3000 stall while im at it...raced a RCSB nbs today..cocky guy around,,rolled up to a 30 roll thinking oh this slow tahoe and i took him by a car..after about 7 races in 30 roll 40 roll 55 roll 70 roll and a couple others he finally admited he lost..then tells me the usual "i jst got a stock 4.8" nd i say yeaa but my trucks probbly 2k pounds heavier than yours jajaja felt good to take out a RCSB
