Gateway Tuesday 7/20 CANCELLED!...
From Gateway International Raceway Drag Racing Manager Rich Schaefer at 3:13 PM, Tuesday, July 29th:
Based on a combination of factors, Gateway is electing to CANCEL, not postpone tonight’s AAA Drags / Street Car Shootout Series event. Based on severe weather warning issued by the National Weather Service, a heat index at the track in excess of 100 degrees, and weather models the show an increasing chance of severe storms and lightening this evening it is in the best interests of our racers and race fans that tonight’s event will be cancelled.
Additionally, the forecast for Thursday currently has heat indexes well in excess of 100 degrees through the day. Therefore, we will NOT reschedule this event for Thursday evening.
The next event at GATEWAY RACEWAY will be Midnight Madness this Friday evening. With Friday’s drag racing action not starting till 9:00 pm we feel the weather will be adequate for a great night of music, drag racing, and drifting.
