Default first time at the track..........was horrible

so me and a few buddies went to huntsville friday for test and tune i ran the truck and was really displeased with the results. from what i understand its what is expected for first time on street tires. so here goes



all motor first time ever on a track

9.9 1/8et

73.49mph

6.53 330ft

2.25 60ft



150shot 1100 bottle presurre

10.71 1/8 et

57.93 mph

6.87 330ft

2.52 60ft

( scared the hell outta me )



dropped the jets down to a 100

9.41 1/8et

82.6 mph

6.41 330ft

2.42 60ft



still on 100

9.25 1/8et

83.3 mph

6.12 330ft

2.36 60ft



and the best still on a 100

9.00

84.8 mph

5.89 330 ft

2.23 60ft



i would post the slips but after these times i believe it really isnt needed lol its a stock 5.3 with a tune cai th350 trans stock convertor muffler and stock 245 55 17 tires

the 9.00 pass was vs a 2012 ram rcsb hemi so i was proud about that lol he ran a 9.66

Looks good to me, my very first pass was 10.03 in a rcsb.

My best pass was 9.55 all motah (5.7) swapped to 3.73 today, hoping to get to the track next Thursday.

i thought about 373 but with a th350 dont want to loose my whats left of my gas mileage, but deff need a stall and slicks

82mph is good for around 8.2-8.3 if you can hook. 84mph is about 8.0-8.2

More posts about your gf checking the oil will make everyone feel better! hahaha

I have always been lucky when going to the track. The HD always blew me away and far better then my expectations. Part of it was realistic expectations.

Good news is it should only get better from here!!!

Slicks seem like you biggest need. The slicks will let you spray out of the hole if you want or close to it and that will make your stock stall about 300-500 higher. Still low 2000s so no ideal but slicks and you can really drop some time!
