What converter/stall are you running? It's cool you can run those times at the track, and still tow your boat around.

Just thinking out loud, do you think there would be a little left in It with a a little looser converter? Take off as hard as you do now but when the boost rolls in it would flash up in the power band better, get it pulling harder in the 20 to 60 foot area. It looks like it come off the line hard then just kind of hangs out there till your rpm gets up there, then just lock third to get the mph

I'm kinda thinkin what jake is, or mabe if you got a bit smaller cam to make more midrange/low end power would prob help your 60ft. I know I have a 6.0 but I clicked off a 1.622 sixty, I left the line @ 2800 off the foot brake with a 3.42 gear an 30" slick, I think the smaller cam is a big reason for the hard 60ft

I got the 60s, I just need few more hits. Its been a 1.54 and a 1.58 already and i have under 10 passes. There is a lot getting a 4600 pound truck moving in 90 degree heat and 70% humidity, way more then cam. I have timing, fuel, and suspension working to make it all come together. John I believe your truck is a good 500+ pounds lighter then mine isn't it?

With a good track and maybe a new set of slicks my money says it will be just fine.

Thanks man, it's tricky to get the combo just right but I run a circle d converter, 3k stall.

Jake I honestly am a little scared of locking 3rd. Done it before and picked up 2 mph both times with the 4.8, but et was the same. Just seems hard on stuff for vs the gains I got.

Yeah, im just thinking along the lines of traction, you have plenty of power to come off the line its as ease as adding a bit on the two step, but its limited to what the tires will hold but once your 20 feet out im thinking you could push more to the tires even at full boost (or does it ever brake loose once your out there?) Cause I was watching some old vid with your 4.8 and it lifts crazy hard off the line but the front end comes down shortly after take off. Just an idea idk I might be off my rocker lol

Well I guess it doesnt really come back down much but I was just thinking if there was a way to get more out the 60 foot the key would be to make it up in the second half of the 60 foot if your traction limited.
