blown dart 572 s-10
#1
i have a 1997 s-10, built a 572 with a forged crank. rods, je pistons, race rite alum heads bds roller cam 8~1 with a weiand 177 and holley 800 dp.. ect ect ect... running a superglide with 433's and 31" slicks... will this combo work in the quarter or should i just stick with 1/8th mile??

i'm not really qualified to answer but i'd think with 4.33's you'd be fine in the quarter. seems like a badass combo though, i'd like to see some vid of it if you got any. have you dyno'd it? that truck's gotta be just insane.

2nd gear is 1:1 in that trans (unless its been changed) so it would be like crossing the traps in 3rd with most OD transmissions. With that gear and tire you should be fine to run a full pass.... You'll likely be turning in the high 6000s by then at least with that combo... Just keep an eye on it and if you're not comfortable with it get out of it...
I'd run a taller gear in something like that from the get-go that's just my two pennies though.
