Atomic vs Twin turbo cobra
First off, I will say this was one of the most fun times ive had at the track. I kind of knew the guys with the mustang, but had never seen the car before, and it was nice having something there about my speed. Its usually an older car with a big block and 1000 shot of nitrous or grandpas truck with 33" mud tires out there. A close race is so much more fun! It also helps that it wasnt very crowded at all and the weather was nice.
I dont know much about the car, other than it has twin 60mm turbos and has trapped 116 and high 5s in the 1/8th before. He was consistently trapping 6+mph than me, but our times were almost equal, except for the last race when he red lighted.
I could only make 16psi with the boost controller turned all the way up, and I think its because of the leak in my crossover pipe. Only mods since last time is I switched from a 1.10 AR housing to a 1.25 housing, which I do think helped a lot. I also left the ladder at home this time. I was trapping 2mph slower with 4 more psi....so either that ladder adds more drag than I thought, or the bigger housing helps a **** ton.

Some of the questions I get when at TnT..."You're running THAT thing?!"..."Why are you running your tow rig? Is your car broken?"
when i used to run the 7.50 index with my old silverado, i would drive to the tech booth and ask for a racing ticket. they wouls ask if my car was already back in the parking lot. i would laugh and tell them i was racing this truck. the first time i rolled into the pits and mounted slicks, all of the regular index racers were wondering WTH i was doing. somehow i got lucky and set up my progressive nitrous controller perfect on the first try and started clicking off 7.503, 7.505 and 7.502 in the time trials. they were full of questions at that point lol. i couldnt compete with their trans brakes though

All my car friends and some of their parents ask me the same thing. Why a truck? I always ask them back, when is the last time you saw a truck spank a car at the track? May cost more to make a truck faster, but the end result is just awesome when youre spanking cars.
