You guys with these 11-second trucks are pumping me up! I thought I'd need at least a 100 shot to run those times.
i used to run the nbs rectangular port intake, it was great, with a 90mm tb, gears are part of the puzzle in gaining and producing the times i hit, i built my LQ9 to be all out NA motor, so i went with a 4:88 gear

I should have it running this week and just waiting for the track to open back up!
its not so much matching the converter, its what you want your setup to do, you want a all out motor then go 4:56, i ran a 4:88 gear 28" tire the bitch launched hard

gears dont match converter, converter matches peak torque at a certain rpm

skeet do you have any results from doing gear swaps? i would be really interested to see what 456 would do over 410's

no but if i had to guess at least 2 or 3 tenths maybe more, specially from a 4:10

thing you wanna do is find out where your peak torque is, once you know that then you wanna choose the stall speed, if i had to guess youre real close with a 4500, if you can foot brake that thing at around 3500-4000 youre golden, but hoping you dont push through the brakes, if i had to guess your peak torque is probably around 4400 which the stall is gonna be bad *** when it flashes youll be right at peak torque, shift it at 6200-6400 i personally think i was over shifting my lq9

i was shifting my 408 at 6900 then after looking at the paper work and calculating a few things we esitmated peak torque around 4800-5k, i run a 4600 stall now, i dropped my shift points down to 6200 i was like hmmm, so i upped them alittle after each pass, the gains it showed were pretty decent, so from 6200-7200 the sweet spot was actually 6600

then i started messing with the timing, i pushed a buttload until she wouldnt gain anymore making necessary adjustments , she finally settled at a nice 34* ( im not saying do this ) im saying i read my plugs NA and also on nitrous i tuned by them. or should i say made adjustments. i have pushed 36-38-40 * didnt gain anything pass 38 so i backed off 4*

Those woukd be killer gains over 410's, you see i figured my peak torque woukd be well over 4000 abd Chris at circle d tokd me 5c (4400-4500) would be about as high as he could go so i figured it woukd be pretty close! I think 456 gears will be about as high as i want to go since i still want to drive it on the street.

Now i just need to find a cold air intake or build one -_-

I went 13.42 @96 mph with a Internally stock 1998 LS1 ...mods were headers, CAI, ls6 intake manifold, Kimbler 60E and a yank sstb3600(similar to ss3600, just a hair tighter) also 3.90 gears with 30 in street tires
