Default 4.8l getting faster

Last wednesday night the truck went 13.07 at 106mph with a 1.90 60ft. The previous wednesday it only ran a 13.47 at 105mph with a 2.10 60ft. I would still like to know how much if any gain I would see if I bought a yank sc2800 or sc3000 over the restalled tb vert I have now.

I can't tell you what you're going exactly, but the yanks probably have a higher STR and they'll probably allow you to stall it a bit higher. That in turn will allow you to build more boost. What rpm does the TB stall at right now? I'm sure you'll find that as you allow the boost to build the stall rpm will go up.

Oh yeah, those times are nothing to sneeze at man. That's haulin' *** for a EC 4.8! What are the specs of your truck? I've only netted a 100mph trap speed with no IC or meth and launching in vacuum (manual tranny), but even if I were launching boost I don't think I could get a 106mph out of it. What does your EC weigh at the track? Do you run slicks, or are you 4WD? A 1.90 60ft is pretty damn good too with a 4.8.

My tb stalls at about 2200 to 2300. For tires I am using hoosier dot pro's 28'' X 14 X 16. I can only reach 3 to 5lbs boost with out pushing through the lights and red lighting. It also breaks the tires loose after the 1-2 shift and spins for a while. My truck weighs 5030lbs with me in it Friday night I plan to remove the back seat, my speaker box and amps and go for 12.9999999.

Aha, a 45 shot of nitrous, that makes sense. I don't know if you'll see a whole lot of gain with a new stall, but I do recommend building more boost on the line. I don't know if it's becase you have a 3.06 first gear, 4.10's and only 28" tire but launching at 5psi isn't much. If you haven't wrap the exhaust, and then get it hot while sitting in staging and/or rolling up to the line. A 2 step would really help. I think with 3.42's, the exhaust wrapped, a 2 step and retarding the timing a little you'd probably be at an easy 10psi. That will cut your 60ft down assuming you can hook.

As it is now though you have enough mph for a solid 12, so I'd probably look into tuning the suspension first.

If my truck was single cab it would probably run low 12's shifting at 5800 first 5600 second swyp?

Add fuel. I have had great (IMO) 60' results by adding a TON of fuel during launch. (1.74 with a stock converter) I use the p.e fuel mode to add it..
Also do you lock the converter at all? who does the tuning?

Well, none of you guys would be running anything close to what you currently run with our track prep and shitty DA's! JK. If he was 4WD then he'd have easy 1.8 60's with possible 1.7X. 4WD adds a lot of weight for sure, but what it lacks in being svelte it makes up for in traction. NO EXCUSES!

Seriously though, be patient, work on your launches and you'll have an easy 12 with that mph.

My best 60' is a 1.88 and that was at 1400' elevation leaving with 10lbs of boost. The DACCO TB stall pushed all they way to 3300rpm. (stalls 2200 on the street) Ran a 13.46 @100.7. Full weight with me in it was around 5500lbs.
