When he ordered the converter, did he order it for a 4.8 to flash to 3600 or did he just say he wanted a 3600? Makes a big difference. That's why Yank displays on their site that the converters are rated behind a 6.0. My TT3000 stalls to 2800 because it's a 5.3, and that's what they told me it would do. Just a little side note...

Also, looking at the log pictures it's weird how before the gears the IDC was pretty much right with the RPMs and climbing and after the gears it's quite a bit below the RPM level. Can't really tell too much without the. hpl file to where I can actually read the values

He got it used from a guy who had it in a 4.8. So I can't say for sure.

I noticed the IDC leveling off as well, but it follows closely to the MAF Hz and the Dynamic airflow. I'll if I can find a old log where I had the wideband on it.

It peaks at 5500 rpm at ~.71. Then it just holds there.

I've tried to figure that out before and understand why it doesn't keep climbing, but I never convinced myself on a good theory. However, I just found out something yesterday that might make sense, but I'd like to hear some others thoughts before I cloud other opinions with my own.

What kind of g/cyl are you pulling in your 4.8l at 5500 and at your peak rpm?

If you plotted your g/cyl vs RPM, it would resemeble your TQ curve... Pretty cool huh? I will have to check my logs at home, but I think the other day i was peaking around .74ish...

So with that in mind what does yoru g/cyl look like at the launch threw where the RPM starts to climb?

If you plotted airlfow vs RPM it will resemble your HP curve...

I usually look at the VE tables to get an idea on peak torque. Which is what I have been telling myself up until yesterday, but now I think that there might be another problem.

But if your airflow is similar to IH8FORD's then that's another theory out the window.

Well you have to look at the g/cyl down low... I have about 10.4ish CR (58cc and .04 head gasket) and my CAM has alot higher DCR than that tr220... Which is probably why i cut alot better 60fts for starters... Also that helps out alot with the power down low. That is why i mentioned awhile back if you advanced that cam a couple of degrees it would really help...

I understand, which is why I think this truck is about at the limit of what it can do with out some mechanical changes.

Yours should have much better bottom end as compared to 64cc heads which comes out to ~9.2:1 SCR and with the TR220 has ~7.2 DCR (based on the info I could find).

The airflow jumps to ~.62g/cyl as soon as it goes WOT, hangs in that general area for a little bit then slowly climbs to ~.70.

This is from an older log, basically a steady climb... IF you can create a MAP(Historgram) that looks like that and post it up...
