Just get yourself a greasy 'ol 4L80e and get it freshened up (and if you like get the common mods to make it handle even more power,) along with the other parts to do the swap and have it ready...swap is not too bad, but not a direct swap either.
If your current transmission is working fine, just keep running it, but have the back up transmission ready. That's what I would do.
I think even the hardcore drag racing guys have extra engines and transmissions ready to drop in "just in case." If you are doing crazy power, stuff breaks sooner or later. If this doubles as a daily that needs to get you to a job or school, I think that's even more true.

The 14 bolt AXN uses a hybrid axle. It has 33 Spline but the journal diameter at the shaft is smaller like the 10 bolt. a couple guys have bent them. and I think in the past 1 or 2 guys sheered them there.
GM discontinued the replacements but Dutchman Axle's has a replacement if you ever do have an issue. I sent them one to measure and make a pattern from.

So I talked to Dutchman and I just wanted to update what I got from them. First, thanks for sending the link man. They actually said that they have worked with some guys before on this issue and gave me their contact info. Its Got Torque Differentials, I talked to them and what they offer is a C clip eliminator kit and you can also order a trutrac from them to go along with it making the 14 bolt virtually indestructible. $1,399 for the C clip eliminator and $2,180 for the eliminator and trutrac.
