Congrats! That's pretty badass.

I love how people will always start talking about someone's setup not being "tame" or "streetable", etc. If it runs the number, who cares what cam/stall/gears/etc. are in it? If you choose to keep your setup "tame", then don't complain that it's not running as fast. You wanna go fast, ya gotta step up and it sounds like these guys are doing just that.

And everyone has a different idea of what's "streetable" anyway. My new setup has a 262/270 (@.050) cam, 4200 stall, 3.5" duals and solid motor mounts, and I'll be driving it on the street. It won't be a daily driver, just because I don't need it for that, but it'll probably still see 10k miles a year. Most people probably wouldn't want to ride in it, much less actually drive it for more than 10 minutes, but it'll work for me.

But, at least from my eyes, you got attention the same way Joe is...you're braggin on "stock" bottom. If you caught any real **** its because you are braggin about the stock internals can handle it...you actually proved that it can't. ****, your **** was unrecognizable. Just like Joe and many more of us truck enthusiasts will prove time and time again...yes we can make these motors go fast as hell but they can't handle it like a built or forged motor could. Not to say you can't over push the boundaries of a built motor either.
You are correct I did prove what it can, and can't do that was my point. I build engines for a living, and could have easily started out with a built engine. Running fast with a stock bottom end does nothing positive for my business. I wanted to see where the limit was on the factory parts so I could design my new engine. Actually the cam, crank, and heads were salvageable Im running the heads on my new engine, the cam will go in a LS1 experiment. The block could also be saved if I wanted to go through the trouble. I was surprised though at how much it did take to kill it. The o5 lQ4 however has much stronger rods, and would have no problem pushing your EX cab into the high 10's. At least a couple times

You know, that was my first thought when I originally saw your engine damage - I wonder how much longer the 'newer' rods would have held up.

Following pictures are of rods from an LQ9 (and newer LQ4) on left and older LQ4 on right.

Looks alot beefier to me, they up graded them for a reason. Kinda makes me want to test them, but it ***** to much **** up when they break Piston looks stronger too.

I agree with that. The only reason I would bring it up is when the discussion comes up on how fast one setup is to another. A truck with a Radix, stock heads/long block, small cam, and 2600 stall would be a very docile driver with almost stock like manners. It wouldn't care if you sit in stop and go traffic for an hour or have to tow a trailer. A truck with the same cubes, big port heads, big cam, and high stall (3600-4400), can be just as fast as long as you are willing to take away some of the driving manners. I've driven trucks/cars with 240º duration cam and if they are tuned in correctly they drive around just fine. They aren't as good if you get stuck in heavy traffic or want to use your truck as a truck, but they will still drive around fine. Dragweek is the best example of this. Even heavily modded N/A vehicles can be ran around without too much trouble if you are carefull. Most fast N/A vehicles have high compression which can mean fuel is very sensitive where as boosted setups can be ran on various fuels as long as you keep it out of boost.
