I have always owned chevy trucks. In 2009 I decided to buy a new diesel megacab mostly for the cummins. 2 months later I drove it on a 4,400 mile round trip. (drove 2200 then 3 weeks later drove back home 2200) I couldnt get used to the seats. They are very uncomfortable. Last december I was starting to forget the feeling of how uncomfortbale they were so we drove to California for the holidays. I almost didnt come back home in it. The driver seat is garbage. I've been wanting to upgrade the seats but with 20k miles on the odometer, Im not sure how much longer I wanna keep it.

Yeah, the dodge dashes used to crack but I can't count on 2 hands how many of the GM dashes I have saw that the dye is peeling off of. Every manufacturer is gonna have their lil problems, thats just the way it is. I know what ya mean bout the seats, my buddies work truck is a thunderroad '07 model ram 1500 and the seats are hard IMO. But in all honesty the seats in my '11 model are way more comfy than his are. Some like the coil spring rear suspension and some dont, but I can tell you that I have owned both GM and now a Dodge RCSB 2wd and the Dodge rides wayyy better. Some say that they can't haul anything because of the coil spring setup, but I have hauled a 5500lb camper at 60-65mph just fine with mine. Would I buy another GM truck, you bet but they're gonna have to get rid of the boring styling and low stock engine power that they have now.

1/2ton or 3/4 ton ?

the 1/2ton trucks 2011 up are nice for sure , 4 link suspension and a nice interior with a good motor ,

plans to mod?

now the 2011+ 3/4 ton plus chevy's are very nice lml and the frames are great , however the dodge may not ride as good with the front striaght axle but is more durable . that imo is the only weakness to the gm;s is the ifs it wears out faster than other makes.

i work on ford for a living , while they have good chassis , the motors are trash (03-10) 6.0's and 6.4 are pure crap and problematic in pure stock form .

Don't you love putting the 200lb turbo on a 6.4, It seems like ford tries to make their stuff impossible to work on

After working for GM for 3 years and dealing with all the problems, I'll take the Dodge.

That right theres funny I don't care who you are

only my buddy works at the local dodge dealer

when I inquired as to the quality of the 59K mile 2006 RCSB 4.7 with 6 speed manual trans for 6900.00 He told me straight up Run don't walk
He cited numerous electrical gremlins not to mention mechanicals

in short, the numbers for sale and prices speak for themselves, when it comes to dodges their reputation preceeds them

resale values aren't pretty at least when you get bone-d- up the A$$ on a newer GM it'll hold it's value

I can't say to much about the truck itself but...motor with chevy has less failures then any other company..I think they rate them problems per hundred.

I work at an atv shop and during warranty work we have an inspector come out to check things out and reasons for failures, etc..

I was asking him about the hemi motors, he said he has been called to the dodge dealership for multiple issues with the valve seats cracking on the dodges and in most cases causing complete failures in the hemis..I'm not sure if dodge fixed this issue but its kinda interesting..he also dealt with countless ford timing chains on the 4.6/5.4 engines...didn't have much to say about the ls series motors..

I do like the new Rams, they have great style and like mentioned above they come with a 4 link rear setup...wow..if you haven't seen one cruise to the dodge dealership and take a peek..worth a look

I'd also like to add that any truck can have a random issue with quality control or that one issue thats common to that make, chevy's anemic 60e, dodges rear axle pre-load issue, ford spark plug thread issue..old issues but you get the point..
