Default 1990 Ram 2500 Help

I got a 1990 Ram 2500 5.9 from my grandpa with cracked heads and was wondering what this would cost to repair. Truck has been sitting for about 4 years in a covered shop. As far as the heads, what would it cost to get the truck repaired? I dont know anything about Dodge. Thnx for any advice.

Is it a 5.9 diesel (not sure if those were available in 90?) or a 360 gas? If it's a 360 gas, heads are a dime a dozen. If you were feeling particularly ambitious, you can drop in a later year Magnum engine. It is a straight bolt in to your truck with the exception of the intake manifold. If you have a carb, then you need to get a carb intake. If you have the TB injection, then you will have to adapt your injection system to a carb manifold. They redesigned the way the intake manifold bolts to the heads with the Magnum series. If you REALLY want to have some fun, find one of the early year Magnum 5.9's with the A518 transmission bolted to it. Not only will you have a nice roller cam engine to start with, but the 518 is a non-computer controlled overdrive version of the 727 (which is what is in your truck now). That will almost be a straight drop in except for the mount, as it wasn't available until the 94's (I think).
