Default Straight pipe instead of muffler?

I have an 07 1500 ram QC hemi I am thinking about replacing the muffler with a piece of straight pipe. Has anyone done this? Good idea or bad?

I'm thinking of just putting a Flowmaster on it and dumping it in front of the axle.

I had a 30 series flowmaster dumped on mine and it made a good sound, by the way, it is for sale. It even has the dump welded on it!

The few QC hemi's ive seen with no muffler were loud and sounded horrible. Most of them went with a Magnaflow and one with a Dynamax.

Actually my buddy has a Flowmaster 40series with the "turnouts" infront of the rear tire... just bolt it up and go.. if interested ill ask him how much..
He sold his QC hemi for a Silverado..

I finaly got my tax rebate check and I put a flowmaster 40 series and and dump in front of the axle it really woke up the sound of the truck and it feels like it has a little more take off power not sure about the fuel mileage yet
