Default Nitrous on a 5.2 A/T???

hey do any of you guys have a 5.2L w/ automatic transmission on spray? if so what are your thoughts about it. What did you guys upgrade while doing it? And also the transmission.... can it handle the extra horse power? or do i need a shift kit and other parts? Also this truck has almost 80k miles. Some help would be appreciated.

Well.... good luck on the tranny... my 5.2 did not last (99) 62,000 before it died.... I NEVER raced my 5.2 and only towed with it twice ( a small trailer with a small load ).
I have never understood why a 727 (that I put thru hell on my 71 Roadrunner) that was modified to an overdrive became a piece of ... Good luck! Mod the tranny!

What really really sucked was there was no one problem, if I had taken in under warranty ( Like my wife did on hers ) it would have been back in the shop at least one more time... I just pulled it out myself and rebuilt it... it had the main problem, broken anchor for the front band, which allowed the band to slip up under the pump.. the surprising part was it still shifted, just had to let off the gas to do it. The clutches in the front clutch pack were fried as well as the OD set. several hard parts were wore smooth out.. I have rebuilt more than a few high milage trannys that did not look that bad... The only thing I can figure is there must have been excessive heat from somewhere ( Engine never had a single problem and never overheated ) but from what I cannot say...

What advice would you give someone with a 5.9 and the 46re tranny? I've got a tranny cooler that needs to go on, but how much spray is to much with the weak tranny and stock fuel system? I'm looking to spray a 100 shot.
