Default Improving Throttle Response

I have an 04 Hemi Ram SB 4x4 auto, stock 3.91's. Only mods are a CAI and exhaust. It feels like i need to push the pedal down forever for it to go then it will just downshift and go like hell. Theres seem to be no inbetween. Its very annoying. It this a torque management issue and will a programmer solve it. I like the truck but this is getting old.

Have you tried resetting your throttle? Fly by wire sucks...and a programmer does help out a little. Get either the new Diablo or SuperChips.

I'll give that a try. Is there a special way to reset it or does just unhooking the battery for awhile do the trick. Not to familiar with dodge's, been a GM guy my whole life.

Get in truck close the doors, buckle seat belt, turn key to on but dont start, mash and hold the pedel down fast, turn key to off, wait 2 seconds and let off pedel. This sets the throttle position. If you do this when its quiet and your windows are up you can here a light buzz sound along with a few clicks then short buzz sounds while it adjust.

When I ported my tb, it helped a lot with quicker throttle response. I don't know how well this relates to the issue you seem to be having, but if you are careful and have a dremel, it's a free mod! There are some good write-ups around here or LS1tech.

Resetting it helped, but it still doesn't feel that responsive. I'm used to the LS1 that was in my camaro and my truck before this was a 99 GMC with a 4.8 in it. I'm gonna pick up a programmer and see how that works. I may do the TB thing come spring time. Its just my daily driver but i really hate the throttle response this truck has.

Try dropping an LS2 in, that could help.
