Default 02 sims

Hi, I'm usually on the Tech side but a friend of mine is having an issue with his Durango and thought this would be a good place to ask a question. He is getting a P0420 code and his SES is on. I know this could be a downside O2 sensor and someone was telling me about O2 simulators, have you guys heard of them and do they work? If so where would I go to look for one for him?
