Default To make a Cummins Fast

I just turned 16 and am going to get my dad's 2003 Cummins. I would like to know what are some good performace upgrades to start with for speed and towing power. Also, brand names and prices if you can tell me. Help is appreciated.

I know the edge programmer is pretty badass. My friend has it on his d-max and its nice. He has 5 levels of programming and it has a nice hand held display.Im not sure on the price.

Edge in my op is the best thing that ever happen to Diesels, i have an Edge Box on my dodge and i love it, just go to www.Edgeproudcts.com , i would start out (depending on how much money you got to work with) a Edge Box, then you NEED a Cold Air intake, to get the required air in with the edge. theneither a 4'' or 5'' exhaust, then injectors, with that set up your already in the 14s in the 1/4 if not better,

btw is this an Auto or stick?

ok its an auto, then the first mod you need to do is a tq converter and a pyrometer, that is the absoulte first things you need, i dont care what anyone says. then a cold air and edge box, and exhaust and youll have plenty of power, but i cant stress enough that you need to do the converter and pyro first.

edge only makes 70 hp?
pacific makes 215hp. i think i would spend just a little bit more money and get the pacific. for the 04.5-05 trucks they got one that makes 300hp and 470 ft-lbs of torque.

the edege juice with attitude combo makes 125hp, but with that you have the attitude monitor wich has all you gauges and setting in one lil box.

but even if he got the pacific he would most deffently need a aftermarket converter.

he can also do and edge box and Super chips tuner that would be alot of power right there
