so i got a set of traction bars from a buddy of mine but they dont seem to work on my leafsprings. they hang down too low from the spring and wont make a difference. they came off his s10 that had drop springs which are more straight than mine. so anyway i had to buy some u bolts and i still have my helper spring on on my leafs so i took the u bolts and bolted them around the ends of the helper spring and around the others which actually lowered the truck and gave it a stiffer ride like i been wanting anyway cause it was just too soft. i've noticed it has helped my out a lot as far as launching but i still spin.

Just wondering if anyone else has tried this and had any more success on hooking when launching or was it about the same????

i raced an ss trailblazer tonight and from a dig i still spun 1st and half of 2nd but i caught him in 2nd and when i hit 3rd he pulled away a little. never got more than half a car infront of me tho. it was my first race with my new 3.73 gears and my posi trac, i was really suprised.
we also tried a roll race starting in second gear and i didnt spin at all and had him when we took off and i caught 3rd he pulled ahead a little and i caught 4th n then let out n his back bumper never passed my front one but i still i lost haha. it was all for fun anyway and now i see what the truck can do i was suprised on the difference it made with the gears. truck pulls SO much harder especially in 2nd and 3rd.

does anyone make traction bars for my model truck (1991 c1500 flip kit)? i think i just need to invest in a good set of wheels and tires. and practice launching too so i can try and keep from spinning.

One more question for yall, When i changed my gears it through my speedo off. Whats a quick fix for it? I have the nv3500 trans, did anytruck with that trans come with 3.73s so i can rob a speed sensor off of it. Or what can i do? Thanks guys
