Think I'm about ready to get started on my '76 gmc. My plans are either a 4.8 with a small cam (bout a 216/220) have a th350 but already have a converter or two for a 4l60e so I'm undecided on tranny though. Just want something to cruise around in, but have also considered putting the 4.8 in my 2000 and using the 6.0 for the '76. Planning on going carburated with a 3.73 12bolt in the rear.
What's talks thoughts?

Sounds like a cool project. Have any pictures of it?
I looked at doing a carbed set up, the cost was almost the same to go ahead and do EFI. From talking to guys who used the MSD lxs controller it sounds kinda finicky, but I have not experience with one, just going on what I have heard.
I had just shy of $3k in my swap. And it is very drivable and starts easy. If you have the know how, I strongly urge to go EFI.

I may end up going efi but still use the victor jr intake. Was tossing that round all day yesterday. I was wanting to keep it as wire/electronic free as possible though so I'm still undecided. I'll have to sit down and see what each will cost.
Don't have any digital pics right now, but it's nothing to look at. The doors and front clip aren't even on the truck yet
