Default picked this up today

its a 96 2500 base model 4x4 suburban was 5.7 vortec 4l80e hand shift tc. imgetting it without front doors and no motor trans or tc. I need a family truckster for the kids and I can use it to haul but it must have ls engine in it. What do you think stock 6.0 and 4l80e? Give me some ideas, let me know what you think .

if you just want a driver, you can get the 5.3/4l60e substantially cheaper, but bigger is always better.

I would definitely say the 6.0 . The suburban is heavy as hell just like my avalanche and the 5.3 load up with family and hauling any load in the back that thing would crawl. Now with the lq9 it has enough th haul a load and have it packed out with family. I would always rather have the power there and not use it then to wish I had the power to use!

How about a stock 6.0 as your base and throw a 4" crank in it? Nothing too wild but the extra stroke will get that thing moving with much more authority.
