New toy: 1992 454 SS White/Gray

Really sharp looking 454SS. It looks great with that drop and those wheels; trucks really do ride well when dropped correctly. Nice color combo but I've always been way more a fan of the light gray early GMT400 interior vs. any other colors so of course I am biased.
Also nice that being a 1992 you get the newer style needle gauges and first year for the DRAC module that you can easily modify with a DIP switch to correct the speedo for tire size & gear changes. Can be done on the earlier clusters too just not quite as easily.
1992-1993 454SS were seriously low production #'s. 1990's are by a verrrrry long stretch the most made.

Thanks for all the props guys
I have owned 4 1990's in the past and have always liked the trucks for what they are. I was really looking for an old Camaro or Chevelle and possibly a 68-72 Chevy SWB to put my crate engine into. But, I really love these trucks as well and its been about 8 years since I sold my last one.
I had been searching for the last six months and almost pulled the trigger a couple of times on different vehicles. I am glad I held off from spending crazy money on a project muscle car that would have taken many many thousands of dollars to get where I wanted it to be.
With this truck all I need to do is swap the engine and probably upgrade the exhaust to help the much healthier crate engine breathe more freely. I will probably upgrade the iron rectangular port heads for some aluminum heads and run either a nice Hyd Roller or even possibly a low lash Solid Roller. I will go carbureted for now, but would be cool to go with one of the new fuel injected setups. I will swap in my fresh 4L80E tranny at the same time with a nice FTI converter. I also want to get a nice drag pack wheel set for track duty and will possibly get some Cal-Tracs to help with traction.
I don't want to make it a drag truck per say, but want it to earn its keep when I make occasional trips to the strip. I have a 98 Camaro SS with a LSX 427 for track days, but the "tow truck" needs to have some grunt too!

wow first white SS I've seen, everyone up here went for the black and I've only seen one Red one...Very Nice truck, will make a Killer Tow Rig
I found a set of those same seats in ruff condition I was going to recover them in Walnut for the van project but after seeing how they look "clean" maybe I'll keep them gray and change the dash color.

Beautiful truck; looks really great.
At the risk of being off-topic a bit here, is there any chance you have a set of stock exhaust manifolds laying around you'd like to part with? Reason I ask is that the passenger side one has a very specific relief cast into it to clear the rear upper A-arm support and I have a BBC C1500 project that would benefit... Thanks!
