Default Fuel Pump

Can anyone help me out. I have a 96 Tahoe that I am on my second fuel pump in 3yrs. I change my fuel filter evry 3 oil changes. I am wondering if it is the brand that Im buying or is it something that Im not doing right. Can someone help me out so that I can get some longevity out of my fuel pump. Should I purchase it from the dealer or can I use another brand?

getting it down to a 1/4 tank shouldnt be an issue, did you buy autozone brand fuel pump? Next time you are in there Id swap it out with one with a lifetime warranty
