If you don't want it to be a major project I wouldn't shoot for hydroboost and 99 up 6 lug brakes.
There are a lot of classic parts dealers with 6 lug disc conversions for the 60-70 pickups if you're dead set on 6 lug, or it's easy to use a 71-87 pickup spindle and 5 lug discs and get the rear axles redrilled for 5 lugs. I've done a few conversions and they're easy, take the power booster from the donor truck too while you're at it if it's not power already. Good luck with it, I love 67-72 GM pickups...

You bet. Find a wrecked 73 to 87 and yank the whole front crossmember and all the steering the parts. It's a complete bolt in swap. Or just the appropriate balljoints in your stock arms and tie rod ends from the same year as the donor and swap spindles. The power steering box off the newer trucks will take some massaging to attach it to the chassis. But you can always just get a rebuilt 67-72 one to prevent that.
Decent thread for some more info I found:

When I had my 69 I got the entire front crossmember off a 72 for mine. I snagged the 72 up for free and took its entire front crossmember as my original one had rusted out....... literally, lol. In reality I would go with the newer control arms however as the 67-72 style with the grease zerks and threaded caps are kind of a dumb design. The 73-87 have replaceable bushings in them. You can bolt the 73-87 arms onto your existing frame cradle.
