Default 95 Chev carb swap???

I picked up a nice 95 Z71 for dirt cheap and want to do carb swap. I know all the basics and what I need for parts. My question is what about the PCM and wiring? It's a m5 so there's no tranny controls to worry about.

Is there any reason I need to keep the PCM and what wires can I remove/cut from the engine bay?
