That should be a pretty easy swap. The wiring should match just fine. I have heard in the past that a 4.3 PCM will run a V8 just fine, but you may want to aquire a 5.7 4L60E PCM or get some one to burn you a custom chip.

Even the 4.3L front accessories should bolt up to the 5.7. Post up some pics.

The truck is a regular cab long bed and it can't get out of it's own way even when you push the go pedal through the firewall. I wanted to drop a warmed over 350 or 383 in it to give it a little "passing power". haha It has a 34 gallon gas tank so range isn't a problem. I have to get the truck back from FL, but when its back I'll post some pics of everything. Is that all I would have to do? Even if I run a carbureter?

I hear the engine stands are different to acomadate the differing center points of the motor.

I'm not sure what you would do for a sending unit in the gas tank. The fuel pump from the TBI would be to much for a carb. But other than that the carbed set up is pretty easy. I'm sure there are ways around the sending unit though.

and as stated above, you have to unbolt and reposition the engine mounts on the frame.

motor mounts are different i did this same swap a couple of months ago. Have to change the mounts on the frame out and they are a bitch.. but after that everything is just bolt on and plug in and go... i have heard u can run the TBI fuel pump with a carb just need a fuel pressure regulator with a return and some adapters for the fuel lines. Can anyone back me up on that tho? Thats a question i been meaning to ask. As far as the CPU there is a guy on ebay TBI chips is his name and he does custom CPU's and factory ones too. I bought one for a 350 from him. Just message him with your year truck and motor and he'll tell you what you need. I did crank the motor on the 4.3L cpu tho and it cranked, but someone said it will run lean and not advance the timing right. Can't tell you if its true or not. I'm getting ready to put a carb on mine anyway.
