1FastBrick:

I have only driven with the poly bushings around the block but they are noticable tighter feeling to me. i may be biased as my stock rubbers were almost non existent. but they feel solid. a little noise but i have to snug them up after 100 mi as suggested by insructions. so that should go away.

PRO TOUR HOE

I have read a lot on suspensions including Robs make it handle thread on 62-72. I am going to use some ideas from that thread. bring lower control arms forward. step control arms. and pie cut uppers to correct the harsh angle from dropping it. I am also looking into making a bumpsteer kit from heim joints but i am still on the fence about that. I keep hearing that they dont last long. i think if i do heims i will use some for tractor implements and see if they dont last longer.
i am making my caltracs now just waiting on the solid bushings to get made by the shop. Suspension consists now of stock springs in rear( stock to junkyard truck) 1 coil cut in front. I am planning on stepping my lower control arms 2" to maintain suspension geometry and running caltracs in the rear. i will also be installing poly bushings as i take everything apart. future plans will have 12' wide rims up front and 14" wide rims in the rear.

Ive seen him race a few times. I rode in a ls swapped first gen camaro last year and got hooked.

My build will be slow with a budgeted 150 a month of dedicated truck money and frequent work travel trips. But as I go it is turning into a solid truck.

Added a little weight to the bed. So nice to not have a piece of pkywood as a bed floor. Gotta finish welding and then seam seal this then I bolt it on and see how it looks.

So I got a few minutes without the kids and I started my radiator ducting/ heat extractor hood project. I am cutting the core support a little bigger so I can lay the radiator forward some. The I will duct it from the grille opening and up through the hood vent. Might be stupid but from what I read it should help cooling and give me some much needed downward pressure on the nose at highway speeds. Pics below. Flame suit on.

Got the right side cut out before kids begged for ice cream. I will do the rest one night after work. Heres a pic of a rough idea of the hood vent.
