Default Prep

Did some prep work this morning waiting on my rotors to get done. I cleaned up the drivers side spindle and painted the calipor, power steering sector and master cyclinder. Also greased up the front end and packed new bearings for rotors.

Brakes look damn good Andy! Do you plan on upgrading to rear discs in the future? It's something I would like to do to my 85 one day.

Few questions for you if you don't mind. Did you use the stock 80E dipstick, or run a Lokar flex style stick?
Is the truck column or floor shifted? I'm trying to figure out how to run the shift linkage for my column shifter without buying the Lokar unit for 4l80's lol.

I would like to but don't think I will ever get there. I may do the 13" drum upgrade though.

Stock dip stick no issues.
I have a S-10 floor mounted shifter with a B&M cable hooked to the trans. It's got lights and a lock out on it. If I need to I can keep the truck in park and it want come out of it.

Wink Thanks

Thanks,
It's a never ending story. When I get home tomorrow night I plan to tear the interior out of it to finish the deadner in the floor. I have the doors, back wall all done just need to take the seats out and finish it. While I have it out I may change to bucket seats out of my wifes wrecked Caddy with electric and heat.

Unhappy 4l80E

Took the truck over to the local transmission shop yesterday to check the leak on it. I didn't get the info I was hoping for. The wire connection is the part leaking not the pan gasket. Also said the rear bushing was bad. They had to order the connector so when they get it I have to take it over for them to do it.

Wink Drive shaft and transmission

I took the truck last Monday to have the new wiring installed and ended up having the truck took back to Hawks for the drive shaft work.

Long story short:
Hawks had the 2 peice cut to short to begin with. that in turn caused the rear bushing to go bad.
Hawks had a new 1 peice drive shaft built and installed in the truck. The fix. Replaced the tail shaft with new one I had bought from transmission place along with wiring connector.
