will an 700r4 work in 85 silverado, i know it bolts up n what not but will the speedo work 2gether?

 

I took a THD 350 out of an 82 C10 and with help from friends installed a 700r4

If you are taking out a THD350, the transmission cross member will have to be moved toward the rear of the truck.

You will need a 700r4 (shorter) drive shaft. The 700r4 was in production 1985 and like mine available from a salvage yard.

The shift linkage will probably have to be adjusted to keep from selecting a position in between gears.

As I remember the speedo cable is a match.

I don't remeber the details on the detent cable.

oh thanks man....its an 91 700r4 so it shouldnt matter right? just worried bout the speedo more then anything cuz its my dads truck,n hes trying me trannys my 700 for his th350..

 

cable driven cables are same but i do think u might have to get a longer one. ive had a 700r4 in all my trucks, 78, 86 & 84 currently an i wanna say on 2 of them i had to get a longer cable. not sure which i used i usually just took old one to auto store an have them get me one longer
