Default Transmission Shops in Metro Detroit

Hey guys... Been a long time since I've been on here... I actually just posted this on LS1 Tech forgetting that the truck section had been moved here... Need some help finding a good transmission shop in the Detroit area (west side preferred, closer to Ann Arbor honestly)...

I have a 2001 GMC Sierra 1500 2WD 5.3L with what I've been told is a broken planetary... I can drive the truck to the shop if necessary (only reverse is jacked up for now) but I'm hoping I can stay local (I'm in Belleville)...

I was quoted $1,500.00 to rebuild it and I've been told that's pretty high to rebuild a tranny... I was hoping you guys on here could point me in the direction of a good shop that won't rip me off...

Also, to any shop owners who might be reading this... I'm in the Asphalt Seal Coating business so if you need some work done on your parking lot I would be more than willing to work out some trade work with you... This also goes to speed shops and anyone doing custom body work in the area... If anyone is interested just shoot me a PM...

Thanks for any help in advance...

Finish Line is about 5 hrs. from you. Why don't you call Chuck and see if there's something he can work out with you. I've been using FLT since Aug. 2008 and wouldn't go anywhere else.

Pull it and ship it. I take that you didn't bother to call, did you?

at that price it seems about normal if not little low if someone is doing all the work for you like pulling it. call around talk to people to see what there rates will be if you pull it and take it to them. Im in brighton area dont go to A plus transmission they tried raping me on labor i went and picked it up and shipped it in pieces to FLT. they hooked it up and helped me out.

Try the Car Guys Garage up in Brighton. Its run by a bunch of the old Wheel2Wheel guys, tell Dan Matt Topper sent you and he'll take care of you. The just did the blower, cam and long tubes on my Avalanche.
