I need to stop being lazy and and schedule some time to do a cam install. I think I'm subconsciously holding out for some cooler whether...

 

No I don't have one yet. But I think that I have found a short block 5.3L. I am also going to start finding all of the other stuff for the swap. If I get this short block and find a good deal and some heads and an intake and what not, I should be ready for the swap by the time the g2g is. I want to try and have it up and running befor I deploy to Iraq in like Dec-Jan. I figure if I can get everything needed I can do the swap in a weekend. But I can use all the help I can get!!! If you guys know where any 03-06 5.3 top end parts are for sale I would like to know about it.

 

If you can find a complete pull out engine I think that would save you a lot of looking and headache even if it appears to cost more than piecing it together. Plus you save on having to have a bunch of stuff shipped. Of course it just depends on what you can find and for what price. I know it sucks to wait a little bit, but try not to be in too much of a hurry.

Ya I don't like working on in the middle of the heat if I don't have too. I'll just keep collecting parts till then... Still holding out to find a good deal on some new injectors. Hell I might decide to buy a n20 kit one of these days too... Just don't tell my wife...

I really want a magnacharger just can afford it anytime soon.

I could pry get some to show up for some of the cam swap but not all of it...haha! I just rather do everything in the heat so if I get a good sweat going I can talk myself out of running at night...
