on my D-max the check engine just light came on --i can't get to a dealer yet to see what code it's throwing -so i'm wondering if anyone may have an idea on what the problem could be.. particulars: 255K miles / 2006 4X4 crew cab / well-maintained /no major mods done to engine

Any parts store like Advance, Orielly's or them can read OBD2 codes and give you a clue to what's wrong.
