Tranny issues
#1
A little background first I suppose...
It is a duramax/allison combo. Truck has been doing fine, no issues at all. As far as performance, just a k&n cone filter and a magnaflow exhaust. No tuners, chips, or anything like that. Well drove the truck a little while back, no issues, and then parked it. Went to crank it up the other day, batteries were dead. No big deal, through a charger on them, and then jumped it off. Trucks running, warming up, filling the tanks up, etc. Finally get enough air in the tanks to lift it up, and put it in reverse to back up, it just revs. Makes me think twice so I look at the cluster to make sure I didn't go to far and put it in neutral, but its in reverse. Back to park and reverse cause maybe it just didn't engage. Nothing
So I have no reverse, tranny fluid looks good, and don't know if I have drive or not. It is on a slight decline, so if I put it in drive it rolls forward anyways. And I don't want to move it to far to find out I don't have drive and can't get it out of the street. It is throwing a check engine code, but I have no way to pull it to see what it is. Any suggestions? How can I start trouble shooting it?

I had this happen once to me and it just came up as "shift range Inhibited" on the DIC all i had to do was put it back in park and let off the brake that tried again and it worked
