I had the 100hp tune in my truck and the EGT gets too high at times(usually when idling for long periods) and cuts off..... I supposed its just the piping doing it b/c it never does it just riding down the road.... and the pyrometer isn't working right... i think the wires may have came loose or something.

SO i was looking at doing a full exhaust and it looks like banks offers one. and thats about it from what i've seen on the web.

I am also planning a cold air kit but I can't figure out which one is the best.... I REALLY like the K&N FIPK's better than any on the market but none are offered for the LLY that I've seen availible.

Stay away from FIPKs, they're trash...

 

You should have cool EGT's at idle, check that gauge. For an intake check into AFE. They aren't cheap, but are the best for diesels. Get the ProGuard7 filter. A 4" exhaust will lower your EGT's some. I like Magnaflow. Many people are also happy with MBRP, but I have never used this system. Banks stuff is nice, but to much money IMO.

 

Mkkkk well I got the gauge working properly and the EGT's are around 1200 @ WOT in the lower gear ranges but they creap up to around 1300-1350 maybe @ WOT above 75-80 mph

I ordered a MBRP exhaust today and also a AFE stage 2 intake system.

 

You'll like those, thats the same as I have on my y truck.

 

i got the exhaust and cold air in today........ yet a little late but owell

I put the cold air kit on.... and I got to looking at he exhaust and the tip I got with the exhaust system HAS GOT TO GO!!! it's f***in huge..... I don't like it at all... its like a 7 inch tip........ I think its gunna look like ****..... it might actually look good once its on the truck...... but I have a big feeling that I'll be taking it off and ordereing something else.
