my problem = solved!!!!!
I have taken the programmer off and discovered that the limp mode problem is GONE!!!!!!! I have been running the ever living **** out of the truck to find out if that was the problem(we have a large boat that I am planning to pull with it this summer so I had to know if the problem was gone) SOOOOOO I'm left with 1 or 2 options ..... that the stock lift pump( pump that puts fuel to the actual injector pump) is not up to the task of supplying enough fuel to the injector pump. OR its the damned bullydog programmer.... which I doubt is the problem.
SO now where can I find an performance lift pump? I have seen in magazines where they add lift pumps or they recommend adding a lift pump.... but I dunno where to get one... I can't find one in a magazine anywhere.... and I'm gunna check tha interweb as soon as I get through here.
Thanks for hearing my belly achin guys.... this **** has aggrevated the hell out of me for the last few months!

If your HD is equipt with the Allison 1000, I wouldn't rule that out. Slipping clutches, especially the lockup clutch in the torque converter in the Allison is the #1 cause of PCM limp mode. The reason it all stops taking off the programming is because there is a lot less torque. It's "cause-effect-cause" rather than just "cause".
I haven't followed your problems with the programming and don't know what the history is, so maybe this isn't any help.

The stock duramax does not have a lift-pump. I don't know what problems you have been having in the past, but you should be able to distinguish between a trans. limp and a fuel starvation limp by the code that it throws. A trans. limp is generally a P0700 IIRC. A fuel limp will be a P1xxx code I believe.
A lift pump is a good mod when running high hp. I use the TTS setup found here> www.ttspowersystems.com The F.A.S.S flows a lot of fuel but it is noisy and also drains the fuel pickup when you get below a 1/4 tank and can make problems worse instead of better.
