Well I think my G80 is on its last leg, it locks and unlocks when it wants to and chirps the tires in turns some time just like the G80 in my half ton. I guess it didnt like the sideways burnouts with old tires before I put the 35s on it.

Not sure if you are being serious on the 3.42s or not but no, Im going to try and limp this thing for a while. I want to do 4.10s, with an elocker up front and a trutrac out back, but between gears, the diffs, install kits, new bearings, and fluid, Im looking at close to 3K for a gear swap, you guys thought gears were expensive for a half ton
When I do the gear swap I want to put a 4-6" cognito lift on it since Ill be removing all that anyway to get to the front diff. I also want to get a built trans in this thing so I can really play, all that together Im looking at about 10 grand, which I dont have so Im not sure one which one is going to get attention, probably the trans because Im itching to load a big tune up.

I thought I heard that the G80 in the 3/4 is actually a tough unit compared to the 1/2 versions.

It is but when Im making a slow right turn to merge into feeder road traffic and I get on it the inside tire spins quite a bit, and Ive already put it through its paces quite a bit so it has taken a beating along with it having 78K on it now.

Because they dont make a true locker for the rear that will lock both tires together if one is off the ground for the 11.5" rear end, with being able to lock the front two axles together when I go through ruts and washes out at the deer lease Ill be able to get through them with minimal effort.
