Default Exhaust design and theory

I feel like everyone has their own theory on exhaust sizing and theory, x-pipe, h-pipes, bends ect. i was just wondering if anyone knows any good articles on exhaust system design for various applications to clear up some of the BS.

Horsepower and hotrod mags have both done some good articles. Its all about eliminating backpressure and also tuning the system length to optimize the scavenging effect. The cam, intake, heads, and headers will all play off each other. Really your trying to use the vacuum of the other cylinders to pull exhaust out of the combustion chamber to get more intake mixture into the cylinder. Much easier said than done.
